Simsbury Crew Competes in the Quinsigamond Cup

This past Saturday, 29 April, the Simsbury Crew returned to Lake Quinsigamond to compete in the Quinsigamond Regatta, commonly known as the Q-Cup. Simsbury raced 6 boats against 5 other schools, namely East Lyme, St John’s. Shrewsbury, Duxbury and Brookline.

The day brought with it cold conditions with on-and-off drizzle. The Simsbury crew didn’t let his weather dampen their spirits, and they tackled the course with tenacity. The girl’s 4th boat and 2nd boats both grabbed the 3rd spot and the girl’s 1st boat came in 5th. The boy’s 4th boat took 4th place and both the boy’s 2nd and 1st boat came in 5th place.

The next two weeks see the Simsbury Crew team training hard to prepare for the Kent Regatta at Lake Waramaug, on Saturday 13 May.
