On Saturday, 27 April, the Simsbury Crew returned, for the final time this season, to Lake Quinsigamond to compete in the Quinsigamond Regatta, commonly known as the Q-Cup. Simsbury raced 7 boats against 5 other schools, namely East Lyme, St John’s. Shrewsbury, Duxbury and Brookline.
The weather was pleasant, yet the pesky wind built up its energy as the day progressed. The Simsbury crew boats took on the 1500 meters course with determination, despite the interfering wind. The girl’s 3rd boat, 2nd boat and its boat all achieved 3rd place in their respective race. The boy’s 4th boat came in 6th place. The boy’s 3rd boat took the 4th spot. The boy’s 2nd boat came in 5th and the 1st boat took the 6th spot.
This Saturday, 11 May, the Simsbury Crew will be traveling to the Kent Regatta at the beautiful Lake Waramaug.
