In sharp contrast to the comfortable fall weather at the New England Championships were the occasional wind, heavy rain and cold temperatures found at the Head of the Fish Regatta in Saratoga Springs, NY, on October 27. Simsbury girls toughed out the 3,300 meter course in the morning, with the first varsity boat finishing in 12:43.67, the second varsity boat finishing in 13:23.41, and the third varsity boat finishing in 14:56.28, each facing heavy competition from crews from across the Northeast. Simsbury boys, who were scheduled to race in the afternoon, did not race due to safety concerns as the weather increased in intensity throughout the day.

The Fall season comes to an end for Simsbury this weekend at the annual Pumpkinhead regatta in Farmington.
