Simsbury Crew Ends off the Season

On Saturday, May 27, Simsbury Crew competed in the 77th annual New England Interscholastic Rowing Association (NEIRA) Regatta on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester

Simsbury Crew has two boats that qualified to race at NEIRA this year. The Girl’s Varsity 1 and Varsity 2 boats traveled to Worcester on Friday, where they spent the afternoon practicing on the race course and the evening bonding and mentally preparing for the next days racing.

Both boats gave their very best against very tough competition. Unfortunately, they were unable to make it into the afternoon finals. Their coach, Ann Carabillo, stated, ‘ We could not be more proud of these amazing girls for the time and hard work they have put into making it into NEIRA.’

On Wednesday, May 31, Farmington hosted the Simsbury Novice boys and girls in a friendly afternoon of racing. Plenty of fun was had by all. Both the girl’s boats won their races and the boy's two boats took 2nd and 3rd place in their race.
