Last Friday afternoon, Simsbury Crew’s athletes came together to put their muscles and team spirit to good work by helping the Friends of the Simsbury Public Library set up for their much anticipated annual Giant Used Book Sale, which was held this past weekend.
Over the summer, the Friends of the Simsbury `Public Library collected used books, puzzles, games, CDs and DVDs from the local community and sorted them into boxes to be moved. The Crew team then had the strenuous task of moving hundreds of full boxes from the library to Simsbury High School, where the book sale will be held. The Crew athletes then worked together to offload several truckloads of boxes. Proceeds from the Giant used Book Sale are used to support the many services, programs and activities funded by the Friends of the Simsbury Public Library.
The Simsbury Crew team have been volunteering at the Book Sale for over 35 years and each year they look forward to supporting this popular community event in Simsbury.
