Simsbury Crew Participates in the Exeter Invitational Regatta

On Saturday 19 April, the Simsbury Crew travelled to Lake Quinsigamond, in Worcester, Massachusetts, to compete in the Exeter Invitational, which was hosted by St John’s. They raced against 5 other schools: Exeter, Hingham, Kent, Boston Latin and St Johns. This was the crew teams’s first regatta of the Spring season.
The weather, especially the wind, was not on its best behavior. Angry cross winds blew, with gusts up to 35mph, making the floating starts and rowing quite arduous. The Simsbury Crew boats gave exerted themselves and made a supreme effort as they rowed the 1.5 km course. The girls 2nd and 1st boats took the 5th spot in their respective races. The boys 4th boat came in 4th, the boys 2nd boat finished the race in 6th place and the boys 1st boat also came 6th in their race.

On Saturday, 26 April, the Simsbury Crew, will return one final time this season to Lake Quinsigamond to participate in the annual Quinsigamond Regatta, better known as the “Q Cup”.
