Simsbury Crew Says Farewell to Eleven Graduating Seniors
The Coaches and Friends of Simsbury Crew wish them well
It was a year like no other, but throughout it all these graduating seniors remained strong, relentless, and disciplined. The Coaches and Friends of Simsbury Crew extend congratulations and best wishes to the Simsbury Crew members of the Class of 2020.
Maddie Dempsey: Maddie rowed with SHS for six seasons and was a Crew Captain. She participated in Soccer her freshman and sophomore years and was a member of NHS, Spanish NHS, and the Women’s Empowerment Club. Maddie will continue rowing at the University of Pennsylvania where she plans to major in Computer Science.
Emma Houghton: Emma rowed with SHS for one season and participated in Baton Twirling during high school. She was also a member of the Chinese Club and National Chinese HS, the National Art HS and the Women's Empowerment Club. Emma will attend Drexel University where she plans to major in Graphic Design and hopes to continue rowing.
Xavier Lewis: Xavier rowed with SHS for two seasons. He will attend Michigan State University, majoring in Materials Science and Engineering, and intends to row with the MSU men’s rowing club.
Anthea Luo: Anthea rowed with SHS for seven seasons and participated in Student Council, Model UN, and Chamber Orchestra. She also volunteered at St. Francis Hospital. She will attend Northwestern University and plans to major in Neuroscience.
Alexa Michaud: Alexa rowed with SHS for five seasons. She will join the United States Army and plans to attend Central Connecticut State University for Nursing.
Marissa Phillips: Marissa rowed with SHS for eight seasons, participated in Cross Country Skiing and was a member of NHS. She will attend the University of Vermont where she plans to major in Environmental Sciences and hopes to row with the UVM club team.
Daniel Picarelli-Kombert: Dan rowed with SHS for six seasons and was a Crew Captain. He also participated in Track and Field, Student Council and Young Republicans. He will attend the University of Connecticut in the Fall.
Kyle Pilon: Kyle rowed for eight seasons with SHS and was a member of the Latin NHS and Computer Science NHS. He served as Vice President of Young Republicans. He is also completing his Eagle Scout project with Troop 175. Kyle is finalizing his college plans and will major in Computer Science.
Mia Rakowski: Mia rowed with SHS for six seasons and was a member of NHS, French NHS, and National Business HS. She was also a Crew Captain. She will attend the University of San Diego and plans to major in Finance.
Jessica Serra: Jess rowed with SHS for six seasons and was a Crew Captain. She also participated in Soccer and Basketball. She will attend Salve Regina University to study Social Work.
Jason Sherry: Jason rowed with SHS for eight seasons and will attend the Rochester Institute of Technology in the Fall.
Simsbury Crew will miss these dedicated athletes!
