Simsbury Crew Team Gears Up for Spring Season

The Simsbury high school rowers are preparing to begin the spring racing season.

The Simsbury high school crew team is gearing up for the spring season, with the first race in just a few weeks. The team welcomed a new coach for the boys’ novice boats, Jenna Nalband, and is thrilled to announce that Paul Carabillo will now serve as head coach of the girls’ varsity boats following the retirement of Mark Raymond. Raymond coached from the fall of 1994 through the fall of 2018. Ann Carabillo continues in her 29th year as head coach for the boys’ varsity boats, with Mary Zunino leading the junior varsity boys’ team and Brent Bette as the girls’ novice coach. The first regatta of the season will be the Simsbury/Tabor Invitational taking place at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts on Saturday, April 14.

The crew team is a non-profit club founded in 1971 and relies on the generous support and donations of the local community. For more information about the Simsbury crew program visit www.simsburycrew.org.
