Simsbury Crew Wins Quinsigamond Cup
The Simsbury High School boys' first varsity boat wins the Q-Cup
The Simsbury High School boys’ varsity team raced past the competition in the first boat race at Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts this past Saturday to capture the win. The 1500-meter race included teams from Middletown and East Lyme in Connecticut as well as St. John’s, Brookline, and Shrewsbury in Massachusetts. It was an exciting, tight finish for the top three boats. The Simsbury varsity girls’ first boat missed a second-place finish by a slim 0.6 second, with Brookline taking the top honors followed by Shrewsbury in second. Both the boys and girls varsity second boats finished in third place amid the tight competition. The junior varsity and novice teams enjoyed their first races of the season, and all teams are looking forward to the CT Championship race at Lake Waramaug in New Preston, CT on May 12.
