Simsbury Democrats Launch Drive for Food Closet

Hunger Won't Wait: Simsbury Democrats Answer Food Closet's Call

Donations to the Simsbury Food Closet dwindle during the summer months-- but food insecurity is a year-round problem for some town residents. Answering the Simsbury Food Closet’s call for donations, Simsbury Democrats launched a drive to help fill the shelves, collecting dozens of bags of groceries that were delivered this week.

The drive will continue in the coming weeks, as volunteers collect non-perishable items and paper products at several events in the to help keep the shelves full.The Simsbury Food Closet is requesting donations of coffee/tea, canned foods including fruits, stews & soups, spaghetti sauces & pastas, oatmeal/cereals and toilet paper.
