Simsbury Doctor Placed On Probation By State Board

She will be allowed to continue her practice during a five-year probationary period.

HARTFORD, CT — A pediatrician from Simsbury has been placed on probation by the state Medical Examining Board following an investigation into excessive alcohol use.

Dr. Christine Cornachio was placed on probation for five years as part of a consent order which allows her to continue her practice at the Connecticut Children's Specialty Group. Individual and group therapy is mandated during her probationary period, as well as random urine screening, according to the consent order.

The consent order said an investigation revealed Cornachio, who has been licensed in Connecticut since 2005, utilized alcohol to excess on at least five occasions from Jan. 2014 to March 2019.

Cornachio waived her right to a hearing on the matter. She did not admit guilt or wrongdoing, but chose not to contest the allegations, according to the consent order.
