What Stinks In Simsbury? The SVFC Has The Answer
The Simsbury Volunteer Fire Co. this week has issued a warning to residents that a noxious odor in town is merely due to a farm.
SIMSBURY, CT — It really does stink in Simsbury.
The smell in one Simsbury neighborhood is so bad, that folks are even calling the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Co. about it.
Which is why the SVFC issued a literal gag order.

Wednesday, the SVFC warned people that the stomach-churning smell is being caused, simply, by an area farm spreading manure in preparation for the spring growing season.
The roads impacted by the gag alert were Hoskins Road, County Road and Firetown Road.

"In the past, this activity has created calls thinking it's a gas leak in the area," wrote the SVFC via social media.
"Obviously if you suspect there may be an actual gas leak call 911 to report it but we wanted to alert you to this odoriferous situation."
