Simsbury FD To Test Sirens, Public Address Systems at Two Stations Today

SIMSBURY, CT — Residents in parts of Simsbury may hear additional sirens and public address announcements on Monday as the Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company conducts routine testing of its emergency notification systems.

The fire company announced that it will be testing the station sirens and public address notification systems at the Weatogue and West Simsbury firehouses throughout the day on Monday, July 13.

Officials said residents in those areas may notice an increase in siren activations or hear audible voice announcements during the testing.

The department emphasized that the tests are planned and that the sirens and public address systems are important tools used to notify volunteer firefighters and support emergency management operations.

"We will be testing the station sirens and public address notification systems at the Weatogue and West Simsbury firehouses throughout the day," Simsbury Fire Chief Todd Myers said in the announcement. "You may hear an increase in siren cycles or an audible voice in these areas. These are important tools for notifying our volunteers and emergency management."

The department thanked residents for their understanding during the scheduled testing.
