Simsbury Firefighters Honored for Service

20 members received recognition for their service to the town.

The Simsbury Volunteer Fire Company has honored 20 members for their service to the town.

Receiving an award for 45 years of service was Firefighter Kenneth Myers, Main station, with 8,520 callouts.  Firefighter Thomas Post, Main station, received an award for 40 years of service and 11,521 callouts. 

Thirty-five year awards went to Fire Chief James Baldis with 7,447 callouts and Firefighter Richard Bonczek, 3,011 callouts, recently retired from Tariffville station.

Thirty year awards went to Firefighters Timothy Gilbert, Main station, with 4,919 callouts, and Mark Jacobs, Firetown station, 6,300 callouts. 

Lieutenant Bob Rust, Bushy Hill station, received a 20 year service award with 4,251 callouts. Captain Todd Myers, Bushy Hill station, 3,565 callouts and Captain Adam Libros, Main station, 3,170 callouts, were recognized for 15 years of service.

Honored for 10 years of service were Lt. Fred Cosgrove, Firetown station, 2,208 callouts, Captain Jay Dixon, Weatogue station, 2,632 callouts and Lt. Nick Civitillo, Weatogue station, 1,544 callouts. 

Honored for five years of service were Engineers Steve Hess, West Simsbury station, 889 callouts, Jeff Holmes, Bushy Hill station, 1,910 callouts, and Mark Sperandio, Main station, 1,274 callouts, and Firefighters Maggie Boudreau, Main station, 759 callouts, Addison Brown, Bushy Hill station, 1,685 callouts, Kyle Testerman, Bushy Hill station, 723 callouts, Joel Warren, Main station, 965 callouts, and Petra Weisbrich, West Simsbury station, 736 callouts.
