Simsbury Fly-In Sunday To Showcase Aviation's Charm
The annual celebration of flying machines will take place at Simsbury Airport on Sunday.
SIMSBURY, CT — One of the most anticipated, early fall events in the area is this Sunday's annual Simsbury Fly-In hosted by the Simsbury Airport.
As a result, the town has issued some traffic warning for folks driving nearby or looking to go to the event.
On Sunday, motorists should expect heavy traffic in and around the Simsbury Airport (Wolcott Road and surrounding areas) from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. due to the Simsbury Fly-In, Car Show and Food Truck Festival.

Town officials said There will be no road closures, but anyone traveling through the area and not attending the event should seek an alternate route.
For those attending the event, there will be parking at 73 Wolcott Road and on the airport property, on the east side of the runway.

Accessible parking will be at 89 Wolcott Road. There is no on street parking.
Signage will be set up along the roadway to direct spectators, vendors and show cars to the proper parking locations.
As for what will go on at the fly-in, there will be vendors, food trucks, classic cars, music and, of course, airplanes, airplanes and airplanes.
Admission is, technically, free, but there are collection points at the airport where folks can donate so the event can continue thrilling aviation-loving generations.
Guests will be able to watch a diverse array of classic civilian and military aircraft come in for a landing.
Then, visitors will be able to tour the planes and, even, enjoy a plane or helicopter ride for a price.
The fly-in is a combination air show and country fair and it regularly draws nice crowds, with the goal being to promote aviation to new generations.
