Simsbury, Get Ready to Strut Your Mutt

Have a four-legged friend you want to show off?

Strut your mutt (or purebred) at the Paw Meadow Dog Park’s annual Strut Your Mutt event on Saturday from noon until 4 p.m. Prizes will be awarded in various categories.

There will be vendors showing off their products and services, as well as an array of Paw Meadow t-shirts and hats available. All proceeds will go directly to the dog park, as will the suggested donation of $10 per family or group.

“With Strut Your Mutt, we are raising money to pay for the upkeep and maintenance of the park,” said Dog Park Committee Chairwoman Nikki Perry. “We have projects to finish, such as a walkway which can be maintained to provide easy winter access.”

She added, “Our vendors have generously donated to the teacup auction with lots of great baskets, gift cards, and other items. Kanes Market will be serving food again this year and we’ll have demonstrations with local experts.”

The event will be in the grassy area next to the dog park on Iron Horse Boulevard, near the Performing Arts Center. Information is available at www.pawmeadowdogpark.orgc or on the park’s Facebook page.
