Simsbury Grabs Votes In Boys Basketball Poll

SIMSBURY, CT — Nine victories in 11 games to open the 2017-18 season has generated some voter support for Simsbury High School in the weekly statewide boys basketball poll.

The Trojans (9-2) defeated Middletown and Avon last week before bowing to top-ranked East Catholic. Simsbury is on the road Thursday at Conard and Saturday at Naugatuck.

East Catholic (13-0) was again the unanimous top choice of all 19 voters in the most recent balloting after crushing three opponents last week by an average margin of 42 points.

Here are the top 10, plus all other schools receiving votes, with records through Jan. 28:
