Simsbury High School Gets Votes In Ice Hockey Poll

The Trojans posted a double-digit victory over a Division I foe last week.

SIMSBURY, CT — The most recent top 10 poll of boys ice hockey teams in Connecticut included just one program from Hartford County (Farmington Valley), but Simsbury High School is poised to join the ranks.

The Trojans (2-3) posted one huge victory last week, routing Division I foe East Catholic 11-0 on Saturday. Simsbury placed 13th in the most recent rankings.

Fairfield Prep (6-0) collected all 16 first-place votes to retain the top ranking.

Here are the top 10, as well as all programs receiving votes, with records through Jan. 3.

  3. Greenwich (4-0)
  4. Notre Dame-West Haven (4-1)

  6. Ridgefield (2-2)
  7. Xavier (3-2)
  8. Farmington Valley (4-1)
  9. New Fairfield/Immaculate (3-0-1)
  10. Darien (1-4)

Also receiving votes: Northwest Catholic (3-1-1), Watertown/Pomperaug (5-0-1), Simsbury (2-3), New Canaan (0-4), Cheshire (3-2).
