Simsbury Just Misses Top 10 in Latest Hockey Poll

SIMSBURY, CT — For the first time all season, each of the 16 voters in the weekly high school boys ice hockey poll agreed on a number one.

Ridgefield bagged all the top votes in the final regular season balloting of media members and coaches. New Canaan moved from third to second.

Simsbury High School (9-8) finished just outside of the top 10 in the most recent poll.

Here are the top 10, with records through Feb. 20:

1. Ridgefield (18-2)
2. New Canaan (16-3-1)
3. Xavier (13-5-1)
4. Notre Dame-West Haven (10-7-1)
5. Northwest Catholic (15-3-1)
6. Hamden (11-6)
7. Fairfield Prep (9-8)
8. West Haven (12-5)
9. East Haven (13-3)
10. Suffield/Granby/Windsor Locks (13-5)

Also receiving votes: Simsbury (9-8), NFI (13-2-2), Fairfield Warde/Ludlowe (13-4-2), Farmington Valley (14-3), Watertown/Pomperaug (14-3).
