Simsbury Election Results 2019: Wellman Remains As 1st Selectman

Simsbury residents went to the polls to vote for candidates for first selectman, Boards of Selectmen and Education and other positions.

SIMSBURY, CT — The votes have been counted in Simsbury, and incumbent Democratic First Selectman Eric Wellman has retained his seat by a margin of 3,685 votes to 2,739 for Republican challenger Cheryl Cook. Petitioning candidate Robert Kalechman garnered 61 votes.

Incumbent Board of Selectmen members Chris Peterson, a Democrat, and Republicans Sean Askham and Mike Paine sought to retain their seats, with challengers including Democrats Wendy Mackstutis and Philip Purciello and Republican Jackie Battos. Here are their unofficial vote totals, provided by the Secretary of the State's office:

Candidates for full term spots on the Board of Education were all incumbents: Republicans Jennifer Batchelar and Susan Salina, and Democrats Todd Burrick and Jeffrey Tindall. Unofficial vote totals are:
