
Frances (Tusia) Salvatore, 88, Simsbury, beloved wife of Roland H. Salvatore, died Friday, September 9, 2016 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born June 8, 1928 in Hartford, daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Matassa) Tusia and had lived in Hartford prior to moving to Simsbury 60 years ago. Mrs. Salvatore was a Repair Service Technician for SNET for many years prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and the Simsbury Senior Center. Frances enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and traveling.
Besides her loving husband of 63 years, she is survived by her three children, JoAnn Torgersen and her husband Ted of Windsor, Roland Salvatore, Jr. and his wife Carol-Ann of East Hartland and Rose Spradlin and her husband Michael of Simsbury; her grandchildren, Christina Bristol and her husband Sean, Roland Salvatore, III, Nicholas Salvatore, Jack Mulcahy and Ian Spradlin; her great granddaughter, Alexa Rose Bristol; a sister-in-law, Beatrice Salvatore and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by five sisters and two brothers.

Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Tuesday, September 13th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 14th at St. Mary’s Church, 942 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. Burial will follow in Simsbury Cemetery.
