Simsbury Obituary: Herbert Losee III

Condolences to his family and friends.

Herbert I. Losee, III, beloved husband of Jan Losee of Simsbury passed away in his home surrounded by love on September the 29th, 2015 following a long battle with Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

He was born in Tampa, FL to the late Herbert I. and Marie (Gordon) Losee. He grew up in Garden City, Long Island, and was a graduate of Garden City High School and graduated from Nichols College with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. He enjoyed a successful career of almost 30 years with IBM Corporation as a Systems Analyst and Industry Consultant. After retiring from IBM, he joined Saratoga Systems, a start up .com company in Carlsbad, CA. After formally retiring, he realized that he wanted to work where he could help others and he accepted a position as Transportation Manager with Duncaster in Bloomfield. He felt that this was his favorite and most rewarding experience. It was a natural and perfect position combining his love of automobiles and working with the residents. As a member of the Connecticut Valley Region Porsche Club, he was able to fulfill his passion for sports cars and racing with his son. He enjoyed a wonderful and fulfilling life. He loved spending time with his family at their home in Ogunquit, Maine and enjoying the numerous properties that he rehabilitated.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Jan Losee, his sons Todd Losee, Jenner Losee and his wife Kristin, his daughter, Joy L. Vacca and her husband, Matthew; five grandchildren, Zachary Losee, Christian Losee, Nathaniel Losee, Claire Losee and Chloe Vacca and two brothers Peter Losee and David Losee. He believed that to have truly loved and have been loved in return was the very best experience that anyone could have on earth.
