Simsbury Obituary: John Case, Jr., 65

John W. Case, Jr., 65, of Barkhamsted since 1976, died Friday, December 11, 2015.

He was born July 3, 1950 in Hartford, son of Barbara (Connor) Case of Simsbury and the late John W. Case, Sr. John grew up in Simsbury and graduated from Simsbury High School and Northwest Community College in Winsted, Connecticut having received his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. Following in the footsteps of his ancestor John Case, Simsbury’s First Constable 300 years ago, he served as a Simsbury Police Officer for more than 25 years retiring in 1996. John was also a member of the Elks Club in Winsted and the Ring Mountain Hunt Club in Hartland, enjoyed fishing and hunting.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer Lynn Reed and her husband Dennis of West Hartford and Diane M. Case and her husband Roy Dvorkin of Los Angeles, CA; his two grandchildren, Finn J. Dvorkin and Payton A. Reed; his sister, Darlene Hopkins and her husband Jerry of West Simsbury; his cousin Peggy Anderson of Avon, Charlotte Prant, William Eliason and his former wife and mother of his children, Linda Abruzzo of Avon.

Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury on Thursday, December 17th from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Services will be private.
