Simsbury Obituary: Libby Banks, 93

Libby Leatrice Banks, 93, of Simsbury, wife of the late Carl Banks, died peacefully on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at the Governor’s House in Simsbury.

She was born March 12, 1922 in Hartford, daughter of the late Harry and Fanny (Savitsky) Banks of Newington and had lived in Simsbury for over 60 years.

She is survived by her son, Gregory L. Banks of Simsbury; two nieces, Judy Rogers of Colchester and Andrea of Florida, her nephews Glen and Bruce and her great niece, Lisa Beth Rogers of Colchester. She was predeceased by three brothers; Abe, Jake and David, and two sisters, Anna Smith and Rose.

There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Monday, October 19th, 11:00 AM at the Simsbury Cemetery, 16 Plank Hill Road in Simsbury.

Libby was a lover of all animals. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington CT 06111.
