Simsbury Obituary: Marie Hobdell, 95

Marie Irene (Watson) Hobdell, 95, of West Simsbury and formerly of Longmeadow, MA, wife of the late Harry J. Hobdell, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017.

Born in Waterbury, daughter of the late Edwin and Margaret (Crowley) Watson, she was raised there and lived most of her life in Longmeadow, moving to West Simsbury in 2012. She had been the business manager for her husband’s family business, Hobdell Machine Corp. in Indian Orchard, MA before her retirement. She was active in St. Mary Parish, Longmeadow for many years.

She leaves a daughter Katherine H. Magarian and her husband John of West Simsbury; a son Harry Hobdell, Jr. of Agawam, MA; three grandchildren Jennifer L. Hobdell, William J. Magarian, and Collin J. Magarian; and a sister Evelyn Reihl of FL. Besides her husband she was predeceased by two brothers Edwin and Robert Watson and two sisters Loretta and Eleanor.

A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 11 am at the Longmeadow Cemetery, Longmeadow, MA. There are no calling hours.
