Simsbury Obituary: Natalie Balboni, 85

Natalie F. Balboni, 85, of West Simsbury, beloved wife of David C. Balboni, died Monday, May 23, 2016 at her home.

She was born July 23, 1930 in Bridgewater, MA, daughter of the late Luther F. and Norma (Covington) Farnum and had lived in West Simsbury for the past 61 years. She was a graduate of Bentley College, having received her Associates Degree in 1950. Mrs. Balboni was an Accountant for the Village Water Co., in Simsbury prior to her retirement. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in West Simsbury, the Handweavers Guild of New England, the Simsbury Bridge Club, local quilter’s guilds and was a volunteer with the American Red Cross. She enjoyed weaving, sewing, handcrafts, designing and making temari balls, cross country travel and camping.

Besides her loving husband of 64 years, she is survived by her four children, Dr. Paula George and her husband Dr. David George of Wyomissing, PA, Jeffrey Balboni and his wife Margaret of Rye Beach, NH, Judith Zaylor and her husband Thomas of Enfield, CT and Peter Balboni and his wife Anne-Marie Bazzani of New York, NY, as well as 11 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Steven D. Balboni and his wife Rebecca, and her brother, Robert Farnum.

There are no calling hours. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, June 4th at 11:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 265 Stratton Brook Road in West Simsbury. Other services will be private.
