Simsbury Obituary: Robert Engvall, 82

Robert P. Engvall died at home Monday July 24, 2017.

Bob was born in Worcester MA to Theodore H. Engvall and Ruth Carlson Engvall on July 23, 1935. He was graduated from Mount Hermon School, Gill MA, in 1953, received a BS in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1957, and an MBA from Clark University in 1968. While living in MA, Bob was employed by The Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology, and Astra Pharmaceutical Products, Inc.

In 1975 he relocated to West Simsbury to work for Connecticut Mutual Life in Hartford as Director of Facilities and Construction. Upon his retirement in 2000, he and his wife moved to The Landings in Savannah GA.

Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Claudette Lyon Engvall, daughters Linda J. Engvall of Sedona AZ, and Cynthia R. Engvall of Chicago IL, and son Robert P. Engvall Jr. (Mary) of North Canton. Three grandsons Robert P. Engvall III of Brooklyn NY, Theodore Tullis Engvall and Henry Lyon Engvall both of North Canton, CT, also his brother Kenneth R. Engvall (Betsy) of Boylston MA.

In keeping with Bob's wishes, no funeral service will be held.
