
Robert “Bob” Pratt, 72, of Avon, beloved husband of Stephanie (Filakosky) Pratt, passed away February 1, 2018 at John Dempsey Hospital.
Born in Pittsfield, MA, son of the late, Dwight and Eileen (Brennan) Pratt. Bob graduated from Simsbury High School in 1963 and received his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts. He proudly served in the US Navy during Vietnam, with a top security clearance and specialized in communications.
After his 30-year career with the U.S. Postal Service, he retired and devoted more time to pursuits including ham radio operations both here in Connecticut and in Canada, where he enjoyed life with Stephanie on Prince Edward Island for 6 months every year. He was an avid photographer whose works were displayed in local establishments including Starbucks. For several years with Stephanie, Bob owned and operated Molly Dare Miniatures.

He leaves two daughters and sons-in-law, Kerri and Robby Hubbard and Kelly and Andy Deth; five grandchildren, Becca and Bobby Hubbard and Tony, Casey and Riley Deth. He also leaves two sisters and brothers-in-law; Barbara and Stephen Lee and Dr. Nancy Pratt and Bruce Fox; six nieces and nephews and five grandnieces and grandnephews. Bob was predeceased by his brother, Richard Pratt. Bob was a grateful friend of Bill W.
His family will receive friends Wednesday, February 7, 2018, from 9-10:30am at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow 11 am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 265 Stratton Brook Road, West Simsbury. Burial will follow in Simsbury Cemetery.
