Simsbury Obituary: Terence Brewer, 60

Condolences to his family and friends.

Terence P. “Terry” Brewer died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at home in East Granby surrounded by his loving family.

He was born August 18, 1955 as the son of Catherine Clark Brewer and the late William F. Brewer of West Hartford. Terry graduated Northwest Catholic High School in 1974 where he was a fierce competitor on the football field. He then completed a degree in Construction Management from Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts in May 1976. He worked for many years as a strategic project manager as well as a heavy equipment operator for Brewer & Horan Construction Company amongst others.

In his own words, “the best thing I ever did” was marry his partner and best friend Barbara “Bobie” Hall of Simsbury in May, 1981.

He will be dearly missed by his four daughters, Delia Foran and her husband Dan of Andover, Kimberly Brewer of Manchester and Kara and Erin Brewer of East Granby and loyal dog, Kassidy. As well as being a devoted father, he was a proud “Bampa” to his three grandchildren Emma, Sam and Grace Foran. As part of a large family, Terry was beloved by many. He was predeceased by his brother Neil J. Brewer in 1976. He leaves his siblings, Bill and his wife Debbie Brewer of Granby, David Brewer, Eileen Brewer-Akin and her husband Jim Akin, Jim and his wife Elaine Brewer, Chris Brewer, Matthew and his wife Sharon Brewer, Cathy Brewer and her husband Tom Mancini -- all of West Hartford. Terry was much loved by his in-laws, the Hall Family of Simsbury, especially his mother-in-law Thelma Hall. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins that adored him.

Calling hours will be Thursday, November 12th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vincent Funeral Home, 880 Hopmeadow Street in Simsbury. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 13th at 10:30 AM at St. Bernard’s Church, 7 Maple Street in Tariffville.
