
The family is saddened to announce the passing of William (Bill) T. Maher at age 88. Bill died peacefully on June 12 at the home he built in Granville, MA.
He is survived by Kathy, his beloved wife of 62 years, daughters Michelle van Schouwen (Don Robear) of Longmeadow, MA, Mary (Molly) Zeppa and Eric of Southwick, MA, Jennifer Leonard of Boston, MA five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Midge Witt of Leesburg, FL, and Pat Taylor of Leonardtown, MD.
Bill led an active and fruitful life. cheerfully whistling while combining a science/math teaching career (Simsbury) with vacation homes in Jekyll Island, GA and Bush Island, Nova Scotia, enjoying furniture and boat building, sailing, fishing, biking, poetry, literature, and classical music.

Born in Fulton, NY in 1929, Bill served in the U.S. Army, and earned several degrees for both his professional and personal interests.
Services will be announced at a time convenient to the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations are to support Rails to Trails (www.railstotrails.org) or your local public radio station, both causes important to Bill.
