Simsbury PD: Lock Your Doors To Avoid Thefts
The Simsbury Police Department is reporting a recent increase in theft incidents caused by unlocked vehicle doors.
SIMSBURY, CT — A recent crime spree in Simsbury in recent weeks could be solved by the simple locking of vehicle doors, according to local police.
The Simsbury Police Department Monday issued a notice warning folks that the town has seen a "slight increase" in thefts from unlocked motor vehicles as well as vehicles being stolen themselves.
"The incidents occurred during the overnight hours and involved vehicles that had been left unsecured," wrote the SPD via social media. "All but one of the stolen motor vehicles had their key fobs left inside and were unlocked."
