Simsbury PD Seeks Applicants For Youth Cop Camp
The free, one-week program takes place in August and it will teach participants the basics of a career in law enforcement.

SIMSBURY, CT — The local police department is seeking applicants for a special, week-long summer program that will provide youths with an inside look at police work.
The Simsbury Police Department's Junior Police Academy runs from Aug. 5-9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily at the SPD headquarters.
It is "best-suited" for youths entering fifth- through eighth-grade, according to the SPD.

The program will feature all sorts of fun, educational activities designed to give youths an up-close-and-personal look at law enforcement as a potential career.
It all culminates Friday, Aug. 9, with a picnic lunch and graduation ceremony where parents and siblings of the "cadets" can attend.
