Simsbury PD Seeks Pupils For Citizens Police Academy
The free program will take place on Wednesday nights from March 5 to April 30, with registrants being sought.

SIMSBURY, CT — Local police are signing up members of the community to participate in a unique program that gives those interested an inside look at police work.
The Simsbury Police Department Tuesday started signing up people for its next edition of the SPD's "Citizens Police Academy."
Applications for the free program are available at the SPD's website, with a limited amount of slots available.

Once finalized, the class will meet every Wednesday night from March 5 to April 30 at the Simsbury Police Department's headquarters at 933 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury.
The classes will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. each night.

Topics covered in the hands-on, engaging program include patrol/arrest procedures; search and seizer; accident investigations; and community relations, among other topics.
