"The inspections were performed in an effort to determine compliance with state laws prohibiting the sale of cigarettes, tobacco products, and electronic cigarettes to anyone under age 21," said Samselski.
During the operation, law enforcers used underage youths hired courtesy of the Tobacco Prevention and Enforcement Program.
Those youths then tried to buy cigarettes, with most Simsbury sellers following the law.
Police said the following establishment complied:
• Simsbury Quick Mart – 12 Albany Turnpike
• Cumberland Farms – 151 Hopmeadow St.
• Mobile Mart – 404 Hopmeadow St.
• BP to Go – 955 Hopmeadow St.
