Simsbury Physician Honored with Distinguished Service Award by Hartford County Medical Association

Simsbury Physician Wins Prestigious Award

During their annual meeting on October, 5th 2016, Hartford County Medical Association (HCMA) honored Gwendolyn Moraski, MD with the Distinguished Service Award. Since 1989, Dr. Moraski has been providing quality care to those in her community as an Anesthesiology and Pain Management specialist at the Woodland Anesthesiology Associates, P.C. an affiliate of St. Francis Hospital & Medical Center.

“I am humbled to be receiving the Distinguished Service Award from such a well-respected organization like the Hartford County Medical Association,” said Gwendolyn Moraski, MD. “I love the community I serve and will continue working hard to provide the highest level of care to all my patients.”

Dr. Moraski received her medical degree from the University of Connecticut in 1985. She finished an internship in surgery at Saint Francis prior to a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Connecticut Health Center. After completing a fellowship in pain management at Yale New Haven Hospital, Dr. Moraski joined the anesthesiology department at Saint Francis in 1989 and has been co-director of the Pain Management Center since 1990.

“Over the past 27 years Dr. Moraski has shown an incredible commitment to her practice, her patients and her community,” said Dr.Sarit M. Patel, MD, President of HCMA. “Our association strives every day to help our members provide the highest quality of care to their patients and we cannot think of anyone else more deserving of this award.”

The Hartford County Medical Association is a professional association representing physicians from every medical specialty and practice setting as well as medical students, interns and residents. For more than 215 years, HCMA has been at the forefront of current medicine, ensuring that its members are represented in the areas of public policy, government relations and community relations. Through its advocacy efforts in both Hartford County and with the statewide Connecticut State Medical Society, physician leaders and staff strive toward a common goal–that doctors might spend more time treating patients and less time worrying about the challenges of managing a practice.
