SIMSBURY, CT — Anybody old enough to remember 1976 will also remember all the hubbub about the nation's bicentennial celebration that year.

In Simsbury, that first initial planning event will take place Thursday, Jan. 11, at 10 a.m. in the Ellsworth Building of the Simsbury Historical Society, 800 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury.

According to Simsbury First Selectman Wendy Mackstutis, members of the Abigail Phelps Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, along with the Simsbury Historical Society are organizing an initial town-wide meeting for the upcoming anniversary of the country.
