Simsbury Police School Supply Drive A Success
For much of August, local police stuffed a cruiser full of supplies for local schoolchildren, who start school on Wednesday.
SIMSBURY, CT — Local police Monday reported a successful campaign to "Stuff a Cruiser" full of school supplies for the local children as they begin a new school year on Wednesday.
From Aug. 13-23, the Southington Police Department collected school supplies at the local Staples store.
On Monday, the department called the event a success.

"With the assistance of Staples, the Simsbury Police Department collected numerous back to school supplies including back packs, folders, glue sticks, etc," wrote the department via Facebook.
The items were given to Simsbury Social Services for distribution to those in our community that need assistance, police said.
