Simsbury Police Urge Drone Vigilance
Police Monday said Simsbury's proximity to airports might cause cases of mistaken identity, but folks should still report any drones seen.
SIMSBURY, CT — Local police Monday issued protocols about what Simsbury residents should do if they suspect seeing one of those drones that have dominated the air and airwaves in recent weeks.
"Simsbury Public Safety Officials are aware of recently reported drone activity in the tri-state area. Information received from State and Federal partners indicates there are no known threats to the public at this time," wrote Simsbury police Monday.
Simsbury's being home to its own, small airport as well as its proximity to the flight path for Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks can cause cases of mistaken identity in the air, police said.
