Simsbury Property Where MLK Worked To Be Preserved
A former tobacco farm where the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once worked will be preserved for recreation and history.

SIMSBURY, CT — A former tobacco farm in Simsbury where the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once worked will be preserved as a site for recreation and history, according to FOX 61. The town announced Monday that the Meadowood property was purchased and will be part of a land trust.
The site consists of 288 acres on Firetown and Hoskins Road. The town's voters approved the $2.5 million purchase of the land in a May referendum.
In the 1940s, King was a college student hired to work on the farm.
