SIMSBURY, CT — The local Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter Thursday honored the memory of the American Revolution's greatest figure — George Washington himself.

Simsbury's Abigail Phelps DAR chapter rededicated the DAR monument and a new Valley Forge Elm Tree in honor of Washington.

The memorial was erected to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Washington's birth in 1932 and it was previously located at Simsbury Town Hall.
