Simsbury Resident to Present Program on Osteoporosis

Simsbury resident Dr. Jean Weigert will present a free program on osteoporosis at Duncaster on August 18.

Duncaster will present a free public program about osteoporosis and bone density on Thursday, August 18 at 3 p.m. The presentation is part of Duncaster's monthly series called "The Art and Science of Graceful Aging." The program will be held on Duncaster’s campus located at 40 Loeffler Road. Though the event is open to the public, pre-registration is required.

Dr. Jean Weigert M.D., FACR, CCD, will lead this presentation. She will talk about factors that put both women and men at risk for thinning bones. She will also explain and show how bone density is measured. In addition she will speak on how osteoporosis can be treated and goals for those who are at risk.

Dr. Weigert is a Board Certified Radiologist with 31 years of experience at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. She works in several fields including, mammography, radiology and bone densitometry. Additionally she is a Certified Clinical Densitometrist. She is nationally recognized for her involvement in bone densitometry as a radiologist over the past 20 years.
