Simsbury Resident Sworn In As Judge: Report

Gov. Ned Lamont swore in a group of 20 new superior court judges and court officials on Tuesday.

SIMSBURY, CT — The newest class of state judges was sworn in earlier this week, with a Simsbury resident among them.

The Connecticut Law Tribune reports Gov. Ned Lamont officially swore in several Superior Court judges and other court officials on Tuesday, July 11.

Lamont had announce their nominations in March and the legislature confirmed all of the appointees.

Sworn in was state official Matthew Larock, 47, of the Weatogue section of Simsbury.

Larock graduated from Dickinson College and obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law.

He formerly worked in the Connecticut Attorney General’s Office, where he was a deputy associate attorney general and chief of the employment, labor and workers’ compensation section.

From 2004 through 2013, he served as an attorney with the state Department of Children and Families.

He began his legal career in private practice where he represented parents and children in child protection proceedings and served as a special public defender in juvenile matters.
