Simsbury Residents Killed in Fatal Canton Crash
Two people were killed and two others injured, including one seriously, in a two-car collision on Route 44 late Saturday night.

CANTON, CT — A pair of Simsbury residents were killed and two other people were injured as a result of a two-car collision on Route 44 late Saturday night.
At 10:57 p.m., emergency personnel received numerous 911 calls about the crash, which took place near Colonial Road. Both vehicles involved had sustained heavy damage, police said.
The driver of one vehicle, Robert Ransom, 38, of the Tariffville section of Simsbury, and a passenger in his car, Linda O'Connor, 66, also of Tariffville, died of injuries sustained in the crash. A second passenger in Ransom's car, Addison Crowe, 30, of Windsor Locks, suffered serious injuries, Capt. Lawrence Terra said.

The driver and sole occupant of the second vehicle, Norman Deangelis, 64, of Goshen, was reported in stable condition at an area hospital, police said.
Investigation into the crash is ongoing, and anyone who may have witnessed the accident is urged to call the Canton Police Department at (860) 693-0221.
