Simsbury Restaurant Wins Prestigious Award

Millwright's continues to bring in the accolades, winning an award from the Connecticut Restaurant Association.

SIMSBURY, CT — Millwright's has won "Restaurant of the Year" from the Connecticut Restaurant Association, according to The Hartford Business Journal.

Tyler Anderson, chef and owner, has been recognized for moving forward with plans to buy a farm to provide produce for the restaurant and embracing upscale outdoor dining structures. The restaurant overlooks a historic mill building by Hop Brook.

The award is the latest in a series for Millwright's. Anderson has been nominated for the James Beard Best Chef Northeast award six years in a row. He has also been named CT Chef of the Year, according to his website. He was featured on Season 15 of "Top Chef," as well as on "Chopped" and "Beat Bobby Flay."

Millwright's also opened its own taco truck this year. The truck, dubbed Ta-Que, also serves barbecue, rice bowls, smoked meats sold by the pound, alongside beer, wine, and cocktails.
