Simsbury Seeks Applications For Nonprofits As Part Of Neighborhood Assistance Program

Simsbury nonprofits can apply for the 2026 Neighborhood Assistance Act tax credit program by May 1.

SIMSBURY, CTTax-exempt organizations in Simsbury can now apply to participate in the state’s 2026 Neighborhood Assistance Act program, which offers tax credits to businesses that fund community initiatives.

The program allows businesses to receive tax credits for cash investments in qualifying projects run by nonprofit or municipal organizations.

Eligible programs include energy conservation projects, job training initiatives, services for low-income residents, child care programs, and other community-based efforts.

After the submission deadline, the town will hold a public hearing on all completed applications received on time.

The Simsbury Board of Selectmen will then vote on whether to approve the proposals reviewed during that hearing.

Information about the Neighborhood Assistance Act tax credit program, including an online fillable application and details about qualifying project types, is available through the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services website

To be considered, organizations must submit a completed proposal to the Simsbury Town Manager’s Office by the close of business on Friday, May 1, 2026. Applications should be sent to the office at 933 Hopmeadow St. or emailed to Deputy Town Manager Thomas Fitzgerald at tfitzgerald@simsbury-ct.gov.
