Simsbury Seeks Nonprofits To Benefit From State Program

The state offers tax breaks to businesses that donate to qualifying non-profit groups, which Simsbury is seeking.

SIMSBURY, CT — Local officials are looking for nonprofits that could benefit with donations in connection with a state program rewarding businesses for their benevolence.

The State of Connecticut’s Department of Revenue Services has notified municipalities that the 2025 Neighborhood Assistance Act (NAA) Program Proposal application is available to tax exempt organizations.

The program provides a tax credit to businesses that make cash donations to qualifying community programs conducted by tax-exempt or municipal agencies.

Qualifying community programs include energy conservation projects, job training, programs serving low-income persons, child care services, and many others.

In order to obtain benefits under the program, a tax exempt organization must complete and apply to the Simsbury Town Manager’s Office, 933 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury, CT 06070, or tfitzgerald@simsbury-ct.gov, attn.: Thomas Fitzgerald, deputy town manager, on or before the close of business on Monday, May 2.

The Town of Simsbury will host a public hearing on completed applications received by the deadline and the Simsbury Board of Selectmen will, subsequently, vote on approval of the applications considered at the public hearing.
