Simsbury Seeks Volunteers To Clean Up Beloved Spots In Town

SIMSBURY, CT — Saturday is a big day in Simsbury as the entire community is being invited to roll up their sleeves and clean up those parts of town beloved by all.

The Simsbury Culture, Parks and Recreation Department is hosting "Simsbury Community Cleanup Day."

"Join your friends and neighbors as we aim to clean up Simsbury's neighborhoods, parks and trails," wrote the town in an announcement.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 20, with participants asked to sign up for the location that suits them best.

Then, participants will stop by the Simsbury Town Hall parking lot (933 Hopmeadow St.) at 8:30 a.m. for gloves and trash bags before heading out to clean up.

Trash bags can be returned to a dumpster, which was donated by Paine's Inc., at Simsbury Town Hall by 11:30 a.m.

Pre-registration is not required but is helpful to organizers for planning purposes.

Meanwhile, folks are being asked to share their best cleanup photos. Tag #simsburycommunitycleanup.

This event is sponsored by the Simsbury Board of Selectmen, Simsbury Public Works and Culture, Parks and Recreation departments; and the Farmington Valley Trails Council.
