Simsbury Set to Open State Ice Hockey Tournament
The Trojans will face rinkmates Northwest Catholic in the Division I opening round.

SIMSBURY, CT — Technically, the Simsbury High School boys ice hockey team will open the Division I state tournament on the road, but the only traveling required will be to the visitor's bench at the International Skating Center.
The Trojans, seeded 10th, will face fellow ISC rinkmates and No. 7 seed Northwest Catholic Wednesday at 6:40 p.m. This will be the third meeting between the schools this season, with Simsbury prevailing 3-2 on Jan. 27 and the Lions exacting revenge by a 4-2 count on Feb. 26.
A total of 14 teams from Patch towns in Hartford and Tolland counties will be competing in the three state tournaments. Here is a complete listing of opening round matchups for those teams; click the division headers for complete brackets.
