
Emily Amarell and the girls tennis team continue to dominate. The Trojans (6-2) won 2 matches in as many days, 7-0 over Bristol Eastern Tuesday and 5-2 over Newington on Monday. Amarell who plays #3 singles has yet to lose a match this year. She won both matches this week in straight sets. The 3 doubles teams of Leah Anderson/Sarah Mattison, Audrey Goulart/Jenna Verrengia, and Danielle Weingartner/Nicole Baker also won all 6 of their matches this week. Simsbury hopes to make 3 wins in 3 days today as they play host to Hall today at 3:45 p.m.
Not to be outdone, the boys overwhelmed Newington 7-0 on Monday. As if the final score wasn't lopsided enough, the Trojans did not give up a set in the entire match. Eduardo Rosadio won 6-4, 6-4. Austin Du Bois was a 6-0, 6-1 winner. The Kyzviat brothers were both winners. Sam in singles and Ethan in doubles along with partner Justin Keppel. Simsbury will visit Hall today at 4:15 p.m.
It was an up and down start to the week for the girls golf team. Well, down then up, really. Yesterday, the Trojans (5-6-1) edged East Catholic 236-237 with freshman Stephanie Rosenberg firing the low round of the day of 49. Monday Simsbury finished 3rd in the 3 team tourney with Hall and Canton. Rosenberg once again had the low round for Simsbury with 55. Sophomore Maddie Youngstrom played well, also carding a 57.

The girls track team crushed Conard 104-46 Tuesday. Julia Levesque had a tremendous meet as she set a school record in the 200 meters at 25.5 seconds, and also won the 100 hurdles with a time of 15.2 seconds.
After a big win at home against Southington over the weekend, the girls lacrosse team was humbled by Glastonbury Tuesday 13-2. The loss drops the Trojans record to 6-4. Saturday's winning score was 6-4 with all 6 goals coming from Tess Mackay and Kayla Deitz who had 3 apiece.

The winning streak for the boys lacrosse team is now 8 after a 12-10 triumph over Amity on Monday. The Trojans (9-3) are home for Southington today at 5 p.m.
Southington proved to be a tough test for Simsbury on the diamond Monday. The baseball team was shut out 5-0 as their record slipped to 8-6. Simsbury will host Conard tonight at 6 p.m. at Memorial Park.
The softball team lost a heartbreaker as they fell 1-0 to Southington. The Trojans (3-5) yielded just one 2nd inning run, but could not muster any offense of their own as they were held to just 2 hits. Simsbury will visit Conard today at 3:45 p.m.
