Simsbury Town/School Presidents Day Impacts Announced

Town offices will be closed as normal for a holiday weekend, but the schools are closed an extra day.

SIMSBURY, CT — Town employees will have a long weekend, like many municipalities, with a three-day break that includes a day off for Presidents Day Monday, Feb. 20.

School staffers and students, meanwhile, will have an extra long, four-day break this weekend.

Town officials this week announced the following locations will be closed on Monday, Feb. 20, in observance of Presidents’ Day:

• Simsbury Town Hall - 933 Hopmeadow St.

• Eno Memorial Hall - 754 Hopmeadow St.

• Simsbury Public Library - 725 Hopmeadow St.

The Simsbury Farms Ice Rink (100 Old Farms Road) will be open for public skating from 1 to 3 p.m., but the administrative offices will be closed, according to town officials.

Residential trash hauling from Paine’s and All Waste will operate on a regular schedule.

Meanwhile, Simsbury schools have an early dismissal day on Friday, Feb. 17, with Presidents Day on Monday, Feb. 20, and the day after, Tuesday, Feb. 21, being days off.
